On our portrait courses we spend a lot of time ensuring that large groups become easy to tackle with confidence. Past student Paul Sumner received this accolade sent to Southbourne Link magazine who gave Paul a Portrait Sitting from a competition featured in the March edition:

“In March of this year I was lucky enough to win a wordsearch through your
magazine for a photography sitting with Barrett & Coe.

We finally got ourselves sorted and went along in July.  As there were 10 of
us it took some arranging!  There was my husband, daughter and myself and we
invited our son and his partner and his 5 sons.  It is always a challenge to get a
half-decent photo of the boys as one or more of them is always pulling a face!

Our eldest grandson is severely disabled and a wheelchair user.  He can’t walk
or talk, but Paul suggested getting him out of his wheelchair and using the
rest of us to support him, so that he didn’t feel “different” from the rest of us.

This worked very well, and despite one of the twins having a wobble it all went off
very well and we now have some lovely photos of us all.  Paul was very helpful
and understanding and had a lot of patience with the children (not a mean feat I
can tell you).

Thank you for helping us to achieve all this (by putting the competition in The
Link)”
