At our last course weekend students were shown how to select images for qualifications and awards by reference to the CLEPS scoring system. Images are assessed separately in the five categories:

Composition
Lighting
Expression
Posing
Space

During this session a number of images are judged after animated discussion and exchange of opinions. Students scoring closest to our tutors win vouchers to spend with our processing partner Loxley Colour. This makes for a competitive enjoyable couple of hours.

1st – Rebbecca Waters – Winner of £100 Loxley Colour voucher
2nd – Amanda Quick – Winner of £50 Loxley Colour voucher
3rd – Francis Morris – Winner of £30 Loxley Colour voucher

It is also worth mentioning the winners of our November 2011 CLEPS competition (featured below). Each of these students has since opened their own Barrett & Coe Studio and are achieving fantastic results from their photography and great sales. Click on each of their images below to view their studios.

Joint 1st – Maggie Clothier – Barrett & Coe Nottingham
Joint 1st – Bernie Ramsay – Barrett & Coe Cardiff
2nd – Mark Adams – Barrett & Coe Norwich
