The three main trade associations are the Master Photographers Association (MPA), British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) and the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP).

Anyone wanting to practice as a professional wedding or portrait photographer should qualify with at least one of these organisations.

The first level of qualification is Licentiate which requires applicants to create a panel of twenty images. During our photography courses we teach students on how to take qualifying images and what to include and what not to include in their panels.

Just because a customer spends £500 on buying a large framed print, does not mean it will be a suitable image to enter for a qualification.

On Sunday 8th March at Holiday Inn Express, Stansted three students excelled in our competition to select qualifying images.

They were:
1st – Ian Cawthorne from Nottingham (winner of £100 Loxley Colour vouchers)
2nd – Mick Humphrey from Berkshire (winner of £60 Loxley Colour vouchers)
3rd – Hitesh Pandya from Leicester (winner of £40 Loxley Colour vouchers)
